The Revival of Molly O’Toole is a story of “Second Acts.” It is both a modern-day romance and a search for happiness and fulfillment in those so-called golden years. Molly O’Toole’s journey takes her back to her Irish roots, her proud but failing father, Liam, and her desire for independence.

Molly’s four decades as an actress have taken their toll on her dreams of fame. Nearing her 60th birthday, she has aged out of the business and decides it has all been a dubious battle. She has been close to stardom so often, but the lights have now dimmed, and the stage has gone dark.

With the help of her twin sister, Callie, Molly leaves Hollywood and travels back to her hometown in San Diego. There, she discovers the joy of the Little Italy neighborhood, delights in the diversity of people in the beach town of Encinitas, and finds purpose in helping long-time friends, the owners of the La Paloma Playhouse, as they try to bring audiences back after the COVID-19 pandemic.

Destiny takes a hand when she meets Alan Bernstein, a retired attorney who has his own regrets and wonders if he can come to terms with his complicated feelings as he ages. Alan has been volunteering as a set builder at the La Paloma, but will have a larger role to play both at the playhouse and with Molly.
